Superleague team lose on the road

After an excellent home victory against Killester, Star travelled to unbeaten DCU St.Vincent's on Saturday evening with an injury ravaged squad. A slow start from Star coupled with a fine first half performance by Kenny Gamble of St.Vincent's put the team in a tough position, down 20 just into the second quarter. Some fine play by Bobby Kelly, Rob McMurran, Stephen Dawson and Captain Euge cut the deficit to 13 at the half (42 - 55). Coach O'Neill wasn't happy with the defensive effort in the first half and a much improved effort in the third period helped Star cut the lead to 10pts. Star couldn't get any closer and, as they chased the game down the stretch, the Dublin squad opened up the 20 pts winning margin.
