Superleague team split a pair!
Close win and a narrow defeat - that's the story of the weekend from a Superleague perspective. Two exciting games saw Star pip UCD Marian 85 - 81 on the back of 29 points from Jerry Cheeves and 22 pts from Matt Clement. This entertaining encounter ebbed and flowed with some fine play from Kevin Foley and David Ryan for Marian and significant contributions from Chris Smye and Michael McKillop for Star.
A late three from Michael McKillop to tie the scores at 81 each against Hoops wasn't enough in the tussle for third place in the northern conference. Hoops point guard Jonathan Reed scored a lay up and converted his foul shot to give Hoops a narrow win.
