Super League team continues to struggle
The struggle continues - Star continue to put themselves in good positions to win games but just can't get over the finish line. After a slow start against Hoops, a barrage of 3 pointers from Dion Sherrell helped put Star into a 40 - 29 advantage at half time. However, Hoops started the third quarter much the stronger with Jonathan Reed and Phil Taylor doing a lot of damage offensively and Star struggled to come up with anything at the offensive end. Despite going through a bad patch, the home team didn't give up and a spirited fight back saw them cut the deficit and indeed led by 1 point for a brief period in the fourth quarter with 4 minutes on the clock. When you are having a bad run, it can be tough to close games out and Star again didn't convert enough chances to win the game against a Hoops team that now moves to 5 - 2 overall. Star are now 1 - 5 and have a week off next week before travelling to conference leaders, the undefeated Dart Killester.
